Bun Invhir
is in a particularly favorable position for touring Connemara.
Whether you are attracted to its historical
sites
(abbeys, castles, prehistoric remains), or wish to attend its cultural events
(the Galway Arts festival, music, poetry and dance festivals, traditional
sailing boat races, pony shows), whether you wish to
browse around the
shops
in the busy streets of Galway, or to explore the quiet
coast and
countryside, there is always something on
and easily accessible to you.
You can hillwalk in the Connemara National Park,
ride, play
golf,
tour the coast on a bicycle,
sail to the Aran Islands and to Inishbofin,
or fish
for brown trout and salmon in the innumerable lakes and streams.
You may also just want to relax, to
stroll along the little
lanes hedged with fuchsias, or have a quiet picnic on the beautiful sand
beaches close by.
And in the evening, if you want any entertainment, there will
almost always be some music in one of the local pubs.
