In
the West
of Ireland,
at the heart of the Connemara
area,
Bun-Invhir B &
B enjoys
an ideal location and is strategically situated for visiting this
beautiful and varied region. On the shores of Kilkieran Bay just off the
coastal road R 340 joining Screeb to Carna, the B & B is about 60
kms (40 miles) from Galway and 35 kms (23 miles) from Clifden (see: How to
find us).
The cottage was originally built two hundred years ago, then
extended according to needs. Acquired fifteen years ago as a holiday house
by its recent owners, it is now permanently lived in and has been
extensively renovated.
Acting on some friendly advice, we decided in July 2002 to
open the house to guests for the summer. The experience was extremely
rewarding. Our guests were delighted with the setting and walked down to
the pier to watch the seals, we cooked french food and irish bread, we
answered questions and pored over maps, advised outings, picnic spots and
restaurants and anxiously watched the forecast, and ultimately made
lasting friends.
