Walking

The area of Connemara extends from Galway Bay in the South, to Killary Fjord in the North. The western coast is swept by the Atlantic waves while, traditionally, its eastern border is understood to run along Lake Corrib and the Joyce River.
It is a wild and rugged area, a country of bogland, steep hills and lonely glens dotted with innumerable lakes and streams. The jagged, rocky coast also offers some beautiful beaches of white sand.
   A number of
paths, lanes and tracks will allow you to explore this geologically complex area, from a simple stroll to really tough hillwalking.
For guests staying over for a few days, we can advise and organise walks and treks in the area, either on your own or with groups.

The western way. Down to the Joyce valley.
Along Killary fjord. A Connemara relief road.
Below Máméan. Photographing rock structures.
Taking a break. On the way back.
